This is Coupe the "Can Man". It took a while to get this shot of him hard at work. For a couple of years I noticed him as he would ride by my house in Dublin, Georgia. I admired what I saw. Here is a fellow who is not sitting around depending on the government to give him a hand out. He makes money by going around town and picking up aluminum cans.

Recently I had a chance to finally talk with him when I was working in my yard and he rode by. I learned his name was "Coupe". He is in his early 70's. He did not want me to take his picture so I had to catch him in the act recently when he did not see me in my parked truck.

He told me that he has a big pit at his house and takes all the cans he gets to the recycling place once a year. I can just imagine the check he gets for this work!

One day I saw him riding another bike. He was all dressed in his Sunday best and the bike was a real nice one with wide white walls. He had a bag in his hand that looked like a fancy store bag you get at a coffee shop.

Coup is a unique individual and worthy of praise. I wish more people were as industrious as he is.
